Dr. Jart Shake & Shot Rubber Hydro Mask Review

Hi lovelies, I have finally tried the rubber mask from Dr. Jart which was trending a while ago, especially at facial spas in Korea. Dr. Jart created this DIY mask where one can easily have a rubber mask treatment any time at home. Let’s jump straight into my experience and impression, shall we?

About the Product

Dr. Jart Shake & Shot Rubber #Hydro Mask, 14.12USD

The product comes with a cup, 2 sachets of different mixture and a plastic spatula for you to apply the mask onto your face. Dr. Jart also developed 3 other sets with different functions: firming, brightening and soothing. Since I have dry skin, I chose the Hydro Mask which it claims to moisturise and revitalises the complexion.

Sachet 02 Hydro Liquid Ampoule: I thought it is only water but nope!

Water, Diproplyene Glycol, ADansonia Digitata Leaf Extract, Viola Mandshurica Flower Extract, Proline, Alanine, Serine Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hydroxide, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Butylene Glycol, Coptis Japonica Extract, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Ehtylhexylglycerin, Phenoxythenol

💦 The main active ingredients are hyaluronic acid which supplies moisture to dry skin and water botanical complex that includes the flower and fruit extracts to protect and strengthen the moisture barrier to keep skin all-day moisturised.🌸

There are NO parabens and sulfates.

Direction of Use

Here comes the fun part. It is actually pretty straight forward which you just add 01 and then 02 into the cup and shake the bottle with the lid on, like making a cocktail. While shaking, you could feel the runny liquid turns into a dense and thick gooey liquid. This is where you know it’s ready!

Now the messy part. It does say you have to apply an even layer within 2-3 mins. So, you kinda have to act quick with the spatula here.  Do not try to use your fingers as it will be even messier and harder to get an even application (Yes, I tried). After covering your face with a good layer of product, I do recommend to lie down while masking as the product will drip before it turns into a solid rubber.

Saving the leftovers on my hand

The comments were right as there was quite a bit of product left.

After 10 minutes, it turned into rubber as I touched it out of curiosity. It did sit very comfortably on my face, no tightness or stinginess. And, finally peeled it off after 15 minutes which was quite a satisfying experience.

My overall view

My face felt really velvety soft and cool at touch. However, I doubt on the hydrating effect of this product. Although my skin did not feel dry, I still carried on with my serum and moisturiser. And no, it did not peel off any blackheads.

Would I recommend? This is not cost effective if you are looking for something to give you a hydration boost as there are cheaper ones that do a better job. Nevertheless, I think it is good to experience rubber mask once. It will be more worth it if you have a friend or sibling to share with. Double fun!

Would I repurchase? Probably only when it is on sales 😅

That is all for today. Thank you for stopping by even though I have been MIA for quite some time. Trying to work for both of my living and passion is indeed challenging but rewarding. I have learned so much and I hope you did too. Until the next blog, take care! ❤
