TFS Dr. Belmeur Blue Sunscreen Review

I went to the grand opening of The Face Shop, Sibu in February and discovered their Dr. Belmeur line. They gave me some samples to try and the products were gentle for my sensitive skin. As I ran out of sunscreen, I decided to try the blue sunscreen from that line.

As advertised, the star ingredient, Guaiazulene, is a constituent of chamomile oil. In my previous post, I explained it gives the calming blue color and helps to reduce inflammation and redness of the skin.

The ingredients also tell that this product is a chemical sunscreen rather than a physical sunscreen that contains titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

Packaging

Plastic bottle with aluminium. Product comes out easily by a gentle pressure on the bottle. I like its travel friendy size where I can just put in my bag or purse.

Texture

  • It is quite fluid-y but not watery
  • Feels a bit sticky on skin but goes away after a while
  • Does not leave a white cast on face

Scent

Smell like sunscreen with a hint of herbal scent

My overall view

To be honest, I have not found my holy grail sunscreen yet. There are two things I look for in a sunscreen: high SPF and good formulation. This sunscreen have high protection but the formulation to me is still okay as it felt a bit heavy on my skin. Nevertheless, I appreciate the gentle ingredients in this product.

Would I recommend?

Yes, for sensitive and dry skin. I rate this 3/5.

Would I repurchase?

No. I would love to try other sunscreens. Let me know what’s your favourite!

Where to buy online?

TheFaceShop, YesStyle

Thanks for reading! Remember to apply your sunscreen daily 🙂
