Belif The True Cream- Aqua Bomb Review

About the brand

Belif is a true herb cosmetic brand which inherits a British medical herbalist, Duncan Napier’s 150 years manufacturing experties and philosopy. The company believes in prescribing true value and true quality. This reflects in their work to produce products that use natural and original ingredients without adding any harmful synthetic substances. By combining traditional apothecary and Korean skincare science, their products are know to be simple but yet effective to give their customer a peace of mind and also a luminous healthy skin.

After I came across this brand in a Korean cosmetic website, I really wanted to try their moisturiser but hesitated as it is quite pricy and my skincare was working fine. I gave it a pass until when I was in Malaysia and decided to get the Aqua Bomb True Cream in one of their outlet in KL and I am glad I did! Read more to know why.

About the product

Belif The True Cream- Aqua Bomb 50ml, $38

The cream claims to deliver instant moisture explosion with Lady’s Mantle a.k.a the hydrating herb for woman. It is a refreshing gel cream provides weightless yet long-lasting hydration. This is based on a clinician evaluation of an increased skin hydration level to 70%! There is no addition of mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, synthetic dyes, synthetic preservatives and animal-origin ingredients. Suitable for normal, combination and oily skin.

They also have another cream called the moisturising bomb which is richer and more suitable for dry skin. I bought the aqua bomb instead as it is humid in Malaysia.

**COSDNA Ingredient Analysis**

Although it contains alcohol, it is packed with herbal and floral extracts. If you are wondering, here are what some of the ingredients do:

  • Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla Vulgaris Leaf Extract) is an anti-oxidant rich herb that helps soften the skin, remove dry, scaly and flaky skin while controlling excess sebum, resulting in tighter pores and less oily shine.
  • Oat extract attracts and maintain moisture.
  • Malachite extract which is another antioxidant that neutralises free radical activities.
  • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extact soothes irritated skin.

How to use

Apply evenly to face and neck, after a serum or emulsion. Use daily, morning and evening.

Packaging: White plastic container with a black plastic cap. Comes with a clear plastic spoon too (never used it as I am lazy). It comes in 50ml but a bit bulky to travel. They do Jumbo size with 100ml too.

Texture: Lightweight blue gel cream. Not oily or sticky at all. Absorbs into the skin well. It definitely cools and soothes my skin.

Scent: Herb-ish and floral. Not too strong to handle.

My overall view

This is the bomb! So moisturising and soothing for my dry, sensitive skin. Definitely one of my holy grail items! I use this at night and sometimes in the morning when my skin feels dry. It also makes me want to try their other products too.

Would I recommend? Yes! For a moisturiser, I rate this 5/5.

I do think this is suitable for ALL skin types. I have seen Youtubers with oily skin raving about this product too so I believe it is not too heavy for people with oily skin.  I have also recommended this to my friends in the UK who are experiencing dry flaky skin due to the snow blizzard last week. So if you want something lightweight and to boost your skin’s hydration level, give this a try.

Would I repurchase? Yes, my skin loves it! Although the price is slightly on the higher end, I have been using this for 5 months and I think I have around 10 ml left which is not too bad. I might buy the Jumbo size next time for a better value.

Where to buy:

Malaysia: Belif storesAlthea, Hermo, Zalora

UK: Napier stores, Amazon

Others: Sephora
